These are the questions owners ask most often before working with us. The answers are short on purpose. Where a topic deserves more depth, we link to the page that covers it.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Toronto.Marketing cost?
Trades.Agency plans start at $1,999 per month month-to-month, or $1,499 per month billed annually, plus 13% HST. Elite is $3,999 ($2,999 annually) and Enterprise $7,999 ($5,999 annually). Ad spend is separate.
Do I have to sign a long contract?
No. Each plan rolls over monthly, and a 30-day notice ends it. Paying annually is a choice that buys a lower monthly rate, nothing more.
How soon will I see more calls?
Paid search can produce calls within the first few weeks once tracking is in place. Local SEO usually takes several months in competitive Toronto trades, and condo or commercial relationships often take a quarter or two.
Our last agency was a waste of money. What stops this going the same way?
Ask any agency, including us, three things: will I own every account, what is my break-even cost per lead, and how will you show booked jobs rather than clicks? If those answers are vague, walk away. Ours are written down in the first month.
Who owns the website, domain and ad accounts?
Your business does. We register and set up every one of them under your company, so walking away from us never means losing them.
Can you promise first place on Google?
No. Google states there is no way to request or pay for a better local ranking. We work on the factors Google names, relevance, distance and prominence, and report honestly on progress.
What reports will I get?
A monthly plain-language report covering calls, texts and emails by channel, ad spend and cost per lead against your ceiling, booked jobs where you share them, and what we're changing next month.
Do you work with trades other than HVAC?
Yes. This site serves Toronto trades and local service businesses of all kinds. Our published case studies are results from our HVAC work, and we say so plainly.
Do you cover my part of the city?
We work across all 158 official Toronto neighbourhoods, from Etobicoke to Scarborough, and with Toronto businesses that also serve Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, Markham or Pickering.
Are you a contractor or lead reseller?
No to both. Trade work is your crew's job, and the enquiries your marketing produces are never passed or sold to anyone else.
Can you handle condo and commercial marketing?
Yes. Both are core services here, because so much of Toronto's housing is in mid-rise and high-rise buildings and so much service work is decided by managers rather than homeowners.
Do you give advice on licensing, TSSA, ESA or WSIB?
No. We link to the regulators and market your business. Licensing and compliance questions belong with the regulator or your own advisers.
Price and terms
We charge what Trades.Agency publishes. Monthly, that's $1,999 for Growth, $3,999 for Elite and $7,999 for Enterprise; paid annually, the same tiers cost $1,499, $2,999 and $5,999 a month. Ontario clients pay 13% HST, and your ad budget sits outside the fee.
Nothing locks you in: the plan renews monthly and ends on 30 days' notice. Eligible trades businesses pay nothing for the opening half-hour conversation. Our pricing page works through an example: the number of added jobs needed before a plan covers its own fee.
A useful test before hiring anyone: divide the monthly fee, including HST, by your gross margin per job. That's the number of extra jobs the marketing must add just to cover itself. If the answer seems unrealistic for your business, a smaller plan or a narrower focus is the right starting point.
Timelines and expectations
Different channels move at different speeds. Ads can produce calls quickly. SEO compounds over months. Condo and commercial relationships take the longest and last the longest.
| Channel | First signs | Meaningful results |
|---|---|---|
| Google Ads | First weeks | After 2–3 months of tuning |
| Local SEO | First month (profile fixes) | Usually 4–12 months |
| Condo and commercial outreach | First quarter | Second and third quarters |
Nobody can promise a ranking or a lead count. What we can promise is clear measurement and honest reporting. See the local SEO and Google Ads pages for detailed timelines.
If you've been burned before
If an agency relationship has ended badly for you, the causes were probably predictable: accounts held in the agency's name, reports full of impressions instead of calls, and no agreed number defining success.
Before you sign with anyone, ask for these in writing:
- A list of every account that will be created, and confirmation it will be in your business's name.
- Your break-even cost per lead, calculated from your own numbers.
- How booked jobs, not just clicks, will be reported.
- The notice period to cancel, and what you keep when you leave.
If you need to recover a Google Business Profile, website or ad account from a former provider, tell us in your first message; it changes the order of work.
Ownership and data
Everything we build for you is yours: the domain, the website, the content, the Google Business Profile, the ad accounts and the analytics. We work with access you grant, and you can remove it at any time. That's also why we don't use tactics that could put your accounts at risk, such as fake reviews or virtual addresses.
Reporting and results
Each month you get a short written report, not a slide deck. It shows calls, texts and emails by channel, ad spend and cost per lead against the break-even ceiling we agreed, booked jobs where you share them, and the changes planned for the following month. Rankings appear as a supporting signal, sampled from several points across your service area, because a single citywide position means little in a city where results shift by neighbourhood.
On results: our published case studies are results from our HVAC work, such as CombiBoiler.ca reaching 300% ROI. They show what the method can do, not what your business will do. Your outcome depends on your trade, competition, area, budget and how quickly your team answers.
Working with your team
You don't need a marketing department to work with us. Most clients have one person, often the owner or office manager, who answers our questions, approves pages and shares job outcomes once a month. Expect to spend an hour or two in the first weeks gathering photos, job details and account access, then much less once things are running.
If you have staff or another provider handling part of your marketing, we agree in writing who owns which account, so nothing is counted twice and nobody undoes anyone else's work.
Still have a question?
The about page explains who we are and how we work, and the results page shows our published case studies. Otherwise, call, text or email and ask.
